I've said previously -- in agreement with others -- that electric cars already make a lot of sense for people living on islands. There is no "range anxiety" on an island. Gasoline prices have long been higher than on the mainland ($4.37 a gallon as of June 23, the highest in the US). And in resort areas, the quiet of electric vehicles may be especially appreciated.
